Emriver Color-Coded sediment in action

A little test run with the new color-coded sediment that arrived last week. It's so pretty!

I seem to recall some fluvial stratigraphy diagrams tossing around facies patterns that look strikingly similar.

I'm rather excited about 3D facies mapping possibilities here. Too bad I have so many other irons in the fire.

  1. That is really cool, I can see it really being helpful to students. Is it a pain to set up and clean up?

  2. Since I just leave the stream table set up in the lab, it doesn't take much time at all. It takes almost an hour to set up and take down, so it would be more of a hassle if I were moving it around.
